Chapter 9 is a reorganization style bankruptcy scheme, similar to Chapter 11, but is used for municipalities. It has been used around 70 times, but only a few times by large municipalities. The most notable cases involved the bankruptcies of Orange County, California and Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Chapter 12 Family Farmers
